There was a box waiting for me at the door of the shop when I arrived today! I'm always amazed at how much yarn my suppliers can smoosh into the boxes they send me, and how heavy that then makes the boxes! But it is fun to carefully open the boxes and watch the yarns explode in a riot of soft fuzzy colors.
Today's box was from Kraemer Yarns, right here in Pennsylvania! I have a few new colors of the Tatamy Tweed Cotton Blend in a worsted weight - including what some would say is a hideous green, but I love - "Avocado" . What's really funny to me, the tweedy specks of red, pink, blue and green really make it look like a sliced avocado that's started to oxidize (You do sprinkle lemon juice on you avocados to keep them a yummy green don't you?).
Anyway, each ball of Tatamy Tweed Worsted is 3.5oz/ 100grams / 180yards and retails for $6.25. And, if you're thinking about creating a patriotic do-dad for July, DYNT has some nice reds, whites, and blues. On a side note, I opened the shop a bit late today, sorry about that. My DH was heading off to the Twin Cities to visit (and race) with some distant friends. I couldn't go, and that's fine because I wasn't going to be participating in this particular race, and I'll get to see a few of the same people later in July.
